The Prescot Centre, Prescot Shopping Centre, Aspinall Street, Prescot Knowsley L34 5GA
There is an entrance to The Prescot Centre from the Aspinall Street car park and can be accessed via stairs or lift. There is also an entrance within Prescot Shopping Centre on the upper floor by the escalators.

Accessibility

The Prescot Centre is an accessible venue, with facilities including:

  • Full wheelchair access throughout the building
  • A hearing aid loop
  • ‘Changing Places’ facilities and disabled toilet
  • Disabled parking spaces at rear of shopping centre

Opening Times

Mon to Fri 9am – 5pm and Sat 10am – 3.30pm. Please note, as of Saturday 5 August, Prescot Museum will be open 10am – 1pm on Saturdays.

Car Parking

There is a free, long stay car park situated at the back of Prescot Shopping Centre off Aspinall Street. There is also short stay parking off High Street and long stay parking on Cyprus Street and moss Street.

Disabled Parking

All car parks mentioned above have disabled bays, the nearest being the Aspinall Street car park. As a general note, disabled users can use any public car park space (and get an extra hour free) but these do not come with the extra space of a designated disabled space.

Coach Parking

Coaches can drop off with prior arrangement at the bus station. The coach can then park at Whitakers Garden Centre (Liverpool Road, Prescot L34 3LX). Mini buses can park at the back of the Shopping Centre in the staff parking/loading bay area (only by prior arrangement), located behind the large grey gates which will be unlocked by prior arrangement or by calling the number on the gate*.

Local Transport

Prescot Train Station is a 15 minute walk. There are regular bus services into Prescot Bus Station which is a 5 minute walk along Eccleston Street.

Huyton Gallery has step-free access, and an accessible toilet on site.

Opening Times

Mon, Tues & Fri 10am – 5pm, closed Wednesdays, Thurs & Sat 10am – 1pm.

Car Parking

The nearest short stay car park is situated adjacent to Archway Road and can also be accessed via Civic Way. Longer stay parking is available at Lathom Road and Huyton Hey Road car parks.

Disabled Parking

Huyton has two designated on-street disabled bays in Civic Way, at the side of ‘The Venue’ (formerly, ‘The Huyton Suite’). There are disabled bays in the Archway Road short stay car park. As a general note, disabled users can use any public car park space (and get an extra hour free) but these do not come with the extra space of a designated disabled space.

Coach Parking

Coaches can drop off in front of ‘The Venue’ on Civic Way. The coach can then park in one of the coach parking bays at Knowsley Leisure & Culture Park (Longview Drive, Huyton, L36 6EG).
The coach can return to the Archway Road car park to collect the group in due course.*

Local Transport

Huyton Train Station is a 5 minute walk to the gallery. There are regular bus services into Huyton Bus Station which is also a short walk away.

Kirkby Gallery

First floor of The Kirkby Centre, Norwich Way, Kirkby, Knowsley L32 8XY

There is no longer vehicle access to Norwich Way off Cherryfield Drive (as shown on Google maps) as it is now a pedestrian only area.

Accessibility

Kirkby Gallery is on the first floor of The Kirkby Centre and can be accessed via stairs or lift. There are accessible toilets on site. In case of emergency, there are Evac chairs and trained members of staff who will safely escort those with mobility problems.

Mon to Fri 9am – 5pm (closed for lunch 12.30pm – 1pm) Sat 10am – 1pm.

Car Parking

The nearest short/long stay car parks are situated off Norwich Way and Hall Lane A506 with an outdoor car park (free for 3 hours) and multi storey (charges apply). Further spaces are available in car parks off County Road.

Disabled Parking

The closest designated disabled parking is in the multi-storey car park where there are 14 marked bays. This car park is accessed via Hall Lane, A506. As a general note, disabled users can use any public car park space (and get an extra hour free) but these do not come with the extra space of a designated disabled space.

Coach Parking

Coaches can drop off with prior arrangement at the bus station and mini busses at the back of Kirkby Centre. The coach can then park in one of the coach parking bays at Kirkby Leisure Centre (Cherryfield Dr, Liverpool L32 8SA). The coach can return to the bus station to collect the group in due course.*

Local Transport

Kirkby Train Station is a 15 minute walk to the gallery. There are regular bus services into Kirkby Bus Station which is just across Civic Square to the gallery.
