This week, we’re looking all the way back to 2011, to the 7th British International Mini Print Exhibition at Kirkby Gallery. The exhibition was made up of 222 images from a range of artists from across Britain and the rest of the world, with 31 countries represented.
We were able to fit so many in because they were all tiny! Every single mini print was 70cm² in size – just 8cm x 8.75cm. Most of the work on display in the 7th British International Mini Print Exhibition was made specifically for the show, as few printmakers regularly produce such small images.
The images created were incredibly diverse, with a wide range of techniques used by the artists, including lithography, linocut, woodcut, etching, collagraph, drypoint, digital and screen printing.
