2 December 2019 – 11 January 2020
Crafted is a biennial exhibition, presenting the work of contemporary makers from across the North West of England, in areas of contemporary craft, design and fine art.
As with all of our Crafted exhibitions, all artworks are for sale and offer a range of priced works – from more affordable works through to major pieces, just in time to purchase an original item as a Christmas gift.
The ten exhibiting artists include: Gray, Helen Jones, Julie Dodd, Kate Hills, Kathrine Anderson, Kelly Loughlin, Kirsti Brown, Mandy Hills, Sarah Ryan and Steve Talbot.
There will be a series of ‘Meet the Maker’ sessions and workshops (for schools and adults) as part of the exhibition, so if you would like to find out more about what it’s like to be an artist and learn the skills firsthand, contact the gallery for more information.
There are a range of self-led educational activities to accompany the exhibition. If you are a group or school wishing to bring a class to the gallery, please book in advance via the contact details as below.
Teaching staff can have a special sneak preview of the exhibition at our Teacher First event, to see how the displays and activities can tie into the curriculum – a visit to Kirkby Gallery is a brilliant free opportunity for learning outside the classroom. Don’t forget, your visit to our exhibition can be used towards an Arts Award accreditation!
Teacher First event: Thursday 28 November, 3.45 – 4.30pm
