Friends and Volunteers Cultural Trips

Throughout the year, the volunteers and Friends of Kirkby Gallery & Prescot Museum are invited to go on free cultural trips as a special “thank you” for their kind support, and an opportunity to socialise.

Trips range from behind-the-scenes visits to our own venues to find out more about the collection, to coach excursions to other museums and galleries we have worked with to view exhibitions or even attend exclusive events.

Our next special coach trip is to Wolverhampton Art Gallery on 4 June 2019 to see Making an Impression: Prints by Manet, Pissarro and their Contemporaries ahead of it showing at Kirkby Gallery.

In December 2018 was our visit to the People’s History Museum in Manchester for a special guided tour of the permanent displays (see photo); before that was the Private View of the Liverpool Book Art Exhibition at the Picton Library, and prior to that was a visit to The Hepworth Wakefield to see the Approaching Thunder exhibition.
