Knowsley has one of the best contemporary art galleries in Merseyside and the North West of England.
The first floor of The Kirkby Centre is home to the stunning Kirkby Gallery.
Kirkby Gallery displays work by local, regional, national and international artists including touring exhibitions from the Hayward Gallery, Knowsley’s Annual Open Exhibitions, schools, and community arts projects. Knowsley council also works in partnership with other arts agencies to deliver exhibitions such as Liverpool Biennial and pan-Merseyside projects.
The current exhibition, Approaching Thunder, is on loan from The Hepworth, Wakefield. It is the first venue in the country to be hosting the stunning exhibition of British WWII and postwar works on paper.
