Knowsley has one of the best contemporary art galleries in Merseyside and the North West of England.

The first floor of The Kirkby Centre is home to the stunning Kirkby Gallery, which displays work by local, regional, national and international artists, touring exhibitions from the Hayward Gallery, Knowsley’s annual Open exhibitions and community arts projects. Knowsley Council also works in partnership with other arts agencies to deliver exhibitions such as Liverpool Biennial and pan-Merseyside projects. Kirkby Gallery has excellent provision for schools, hosts regular art classes for adults and children, and seasonal family-friendly activities.

The current exhibition, Approaching Thunder, is on loan from The Hepworth, Wakefield. It is the first venue in the country to be hosting the stunning collection of British WWII and postwar works on paper.

Please note: Huyton Gallery is now closed to the public as it is being transformed into a new cultural space for the community.  To find out more, contact Jo.Dry@knowsley.gov.uk
