Family Friday – VE Day Craft Activity

ARP Wardens marching down High Street

As today is a bank holiday and a special day in history, we have an extra Family Friday activity!

8 May 2020 is 75 years since Victory in Europe Day (VE Day), when the Second World War came to an end in Europe. When the news broke there were spontaneous celebrations across the nation and there was a national holiday declared. While we can’t gather in large groups and celebrate VE Day together, it doesn’t mean we can’t mark the occasion, so let’s get creative!

Also, our friends at Historic England have created a new education resource to help your children learn more about why VE Day is remembered and celebrated, a great resource for home schooling
