Updates to Displays

Please note, over the next few months, different areas of the museum displays will gradually be replaced and refreshed, so some parts will be cordoned off while work takes place.

Prescot Museum will remain open, and there will still be lots on display in the interim, but please bear in mind if you are hoping to see something particular it may not be accessible.

How to access Prescot Museum

There is an entrance to The Prescot Centre from the Aspinall Street car park and can be accessed via stairs or lift. There is also an entrance to The Prescot Centre within Prescot Shopping Centre on the upper level by the escalators. As well as the Aspinall Street entrance to Prescot Shopping Centre, there are two entrances on Eccleston Street: the one nearest Spanish Caravan will take you to the upper level and The Prescot Centre.

Opening Times

Monday to Friday 10am – 5pm (last admission 4.30pm), Saturday 10am – 1pm (last admission 12.30pm).

Accessibility

The Prescot Centre is an accessible venue, with facilities including:

  • Full wheelchair access throughout the building
  • A hearing aid loop
  • ‘Changing Places’ facilities and disabled toilet
  • Disabled parking spaces at rear of shopping centre

Car Parking

There is a free, long stay car park situated at the back of Prescot Shopping Centre off Aspinall Street. There are also pay and display car parks: short stay off High Street/Leyland Street and long stay off High Street/Moss Street.

Disabled Parking

All car parks mentioned above have disabled bays, the nearest being the Aspinall Street car park. As a general note, disabled users get an extra hour free in those pay and display car parks.

Coach Parking

Coaches can drop off with prior arrangement at the bus station. The coach can then park at Whitakers Garden Centre (Liverpool Road, Prescot L34 3LX). Mini buses can park at the back of Prescot Shopping Centre in the staff parking/loading bay area (only by prior arrangement), located behind the large grey gates which will be unlocked by prior arrangement or by calling the number on the gate. Please contact us at least 3 days in advance to notify us of your group’s visit.

Public Transport

Prescot Train Station is a 10-15 minute walk way. There are regular bus services to Prescot, calling at Prescot Bus Station or stopping along High Street/Warrington Road; both just a 5 minute walk along Eccleston Street.
